Mutts, Manners and More, LLC is a dream come true for Amy Gibbs. Amy has always had a love for dogs as she grew up in her dad's vet office. She showed her family pets in 4-H from the time she was 6 until she was 18. After marrying her husband Kevin and having children, Amy and her daughter became members of the Sedalia Kennel Club where she started showing their Australian Shepherd Roxie. Soon after, Amy started teaching classes for the Sedalia Kennel Club.
Amy's involvement in the dog world has grown over the years to include showing in rally, obedience, conformation, having therapy dogs, and to breeding and raising registered Australian Shepherds. In addition, Amy has been a 4-H dog leader for 10+ years, continued to teach classes for the Sedalia Kennel Club, and is a Canine Good Citizen Evaluator through AKC.
Not only does Amy have a love for dogs, she has a love for working with children. She was a teacher for 25 years. She began her teaching career in Sedalia teaching Early Childhood Special Education for 12 years. She then taught preschool in Green Ridge for 7 years, junior high and high school FACS for 3 years, and retired in May 2018 as a K-12 Cross Categorical Special Education teacher. Mutts, Manners and More is Amy's retirement plan (dream).
In addition to operating Mutts, Manners and More, Amy is still a mother to two college students, a wife to her husband Kevin, raises and shows her Australian Shepherds, is active in her church, coaches a Special Olympics basketball team each winter, is still the 4-H dog leader for Pettis County, and helps keep things going on their farm. She is busier now in retirement!!!
In addition to providing classes, Amy is planning on offering boarding, grooming services, an outdoor dog play area, and retail sales. Some of these services will be offered in 2020!
